Driver Rescued, Cited After Trying To Cross Flooded Tonto Creek

Gila County Sheriff’s Office deputies cited a driver after they rescued from a flooded Tonto Creek.

“Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to remind everyone not to cross flooded washes or drive around barricades, your life and the life of your passengers are not worth the risk,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter and crew pulled the unidentified man to safety was flown to safety where he received a citation by awaiting deputies.
