Man Wanted By Tucson Police Captured After Chase And Rollover On I-19

Officers with the Tucson Police Department arrested Michael Caylor after a chase on Interstate 19 near Valencia Road.

According to the Tucson Police Department (TPD) located the 39-year-old Caylor in the area of S. 12th Avenue and W. Valencia Road while he was driving a stolen vehicle. Caylor is suspected of firing at uniformed TPD officers on the early morning of December 27th, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

A pursuit of Caylor was initiated which led to him driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 19 from Valencia Road. At one point, Caylor lost control of the vehicle and rolled over, into the desert area of I-19. Caylor and his passenger, an adult female, were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.

Caylor was transported and booked into the Pima County Jail and is being held without bond on his warrant for 3 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer.

Caylor was additionally charged with Felony Endangerment, Weapons Misconduct, Evidence Tampering, Unlawful Flight from Law Enforcement and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. According to investigators, additional charges are pending.

The investigation remains on-going and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident and was in the area of S. 12th Avenue and W. Valencia Road or Interstate 19 south of Valencia Rd. from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., to call detectives at 520-837-7552 and refer to TPD case #2212270004.
