Volunteers Needed To Turn Christmas Trees Into Fish Habitat At Canyon Lake

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is looking for volunteers to help recycle Christmas trees for fish habitat at Canyon Lake.

The Department will be installing donated Christmas trees on Sunday, January 15th starting at 8:00 a.m.

Department staff and volunteers will be tying trees to cinderblocks and loading them up on Department pontoons to distribute around the lake. Volunteers will be able to help build and deploy trees. The Department will provide gloves, for those that need them, and the habitat supplies to get the trees ready to deploy. Some snacks will be provided.

Volunteers can find staff at the cove next to Palo Verde ramp at Canyon Lake. Parking is at Acacia day use area. Volunteers are asked to bring a pair work gloves if you have them.
