Prescott Man Arrested For Burglaries After Returning To Scene Of The First Crime

Officers with the Prescott Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a burglary at a residence in December.

According to the Department, on December 26, 2022 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 35-year-old female Prescott resident reported waking up an interrupting a burglary in progress at her residence located in the 800 block of Valley Street.

The suspect fled the residence after stealing the victim’s purse.

Then on January 1, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the same suspect returned to the victim’s residence attempting to gain entry again. The suspect was again interrupted by the female victim and led from the area.

On January 5, 34-year-old Donovan Stubbs from Prescott, was identified as the suspect in both incidents.

Members of the Prescott Police Department were able to locate Stubbs living at a business in the 900 block of Fair Street. Stubbs was questioned by police and admitted to committing both incidents.

Stubbs was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County jail for burglary, attempted burglary, and theft.
