Phoenix Police Homicide detectives have made an arrest in the murder of Raymond Hernandez Jr.
Cary Smith, age 40, was booked into MCSO jail for 2nd degree murder after turning himself into the police.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to a residential neighborhood near 10000 West Payson Road, where Raymond Hernandez Jr. was found suffering from a gunshot wound on December 31, 2022. Phoenix Fire Department responded and took Mr. Hernandez
to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
