Man Hospitalized In Yuma After Driving Razor Off A Cliff

On Thursday, January 26th, 2023, at approximately 5:14 p.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle collision in the Fortuna Wash area of 40th Street and Ironwood Drive.

The initial investigation revealed a RZR (Razor – off road vehicle) was traveling southbound in the wash on an unmarked trail. The driver drove the RZR up an incline failing to see the trail came to an end. The driver was unable to come to a stop in time and drove off the cliff with an approximate 35 foot drop.

The driver, a 60-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital.The passenger, a 51-year-old female, sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment on scene.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
