Human Smuggler Tries To Flee On Horse He Used To Hide Illegal Migrants

A human smuggler failed in his attempt to flee on his horse from Border Patrol agents this week.

According to Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin, U.S. Border Patrol Tucson Sector agents “discovered seven migrants hiding under hay bales at the SR-286 Checkpoint. The driver, a permanent resident from Mexico, removed a horse from the trailer during the search and quickly jumped on it to flee. He was arrested and faces criminal charges.”

SR-286 runs north and south from the Mexico border at Sasabee.

Border Patrol conducts traffic checks at the checkpoint to (1) detect and apprehend illegal aliens attempting to travel further into the interior of the United States after evading detection at the border and (2) to detect illegal narcotics.
