Last 4 Glendale Armed Jewelry Store Robbers Sentenced

A judge has sentenced the last of four defendants in the 2022 armed robbery of a Glendale jewelry store.

Gary Wayne Freeny (11/95), Monta Lamont Harris (11/96), Deandre Donte Haven (3/95), and Kenneth Ray Walton Jr (1/83) have been sentenced to serve between seven and 11.25 years in prison.

In March of last year, the defendants walked into a jewelry store, zip-tied some of the people who were inside and robbed $1.5 million in jewelry and cash. Police arrived at the scene while the defendants were in the act of robbing the store. The defendants also brandished a weapon and used it to threaten employees and customers.

Each defendant pleaded guilty to one count of burglary in the first degree, a class three dangerous felony; and one count of armed robbery, a class two dangerous felony. The sentencing for each defendant is as follows:

Gary Wayne Freeny- 10.5 years
Monta Lamont Harris- 11.25 years
Deandre Donte Haven- 7 years
Kenneth Ray Walton Jr- 8 years
