Road Rage Leads To Multiple Vehicle Crash In North Phoenix

Phoenix police detectives are investigating a road rage incident that led to a multiple vehicle collision, resulting in the hospitalization of a woman in north Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to the area of 19200 North 51st Avenue on April 18, 2023, at about 5:42 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found four vehicles involved in a collision and several witness.

One of the drivers involved was suffering from serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Three other adults involved in the collision were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives learned from witness that two involved motorists were engaged in a road rage type incident while driving south on 51st Avenue. The two vehicles involved were an SUV driven by an adult male and a truck driven by a juvenile male. The driver of the SUV lost control of his vehicle during the road rage incident and went into oncoming traffic. The adult female victim driving a passenger car was struck by the SUV and pushed into a third passenger car, also driven by an adult female.

The two drivers involved in the road rage incident stayed on scene and were evaluated for impairment; however, no signs were reported.
