LAKE HAVASU – This year marks the 25th anniversary of Anderson Powersports Desert Storm boating event.

Four days of events commenced with Krusin’ for a Kause April 19 at Windsor Beach.

The event gave dozens of children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience rides on high-performance boats. New Horizons Center, Lake Havasu High School and RISE Services brought participants, and boat owners volunteered their time and boats.

The festivities continued the next day with the Desert Storm Street Party on Lake Havasu City’s main street, where multi-million-dollar high performance boats were put on display by their owners. A boat parade and poker run was held April 21 and a top-speed shootout race the next day. These events are the largest performance boating events in the Western United States, according to Desert Storm.

The week marks a start for the 2023 tourism season in Lake Havasu that usually hits its peak in the summer months.
