A Buckeye man is in custody after hitting his girlfriend with his vehicle near Yuma and Rainbow Roads, sending her to the hospital with severe injuries.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, just before 5:30 p.m. on May 26th, police received multiple reports of a woman who was bleeding and yelling for help in the street. Officers responded to the area and found neighbors assisting the victim who suffered significant injuries. She was transported to the hospital and continues to receive medical care and treatment.
During the investigation, detectives learned the victim and her boyfriend, identified as 42-year-old Adrian Cabrales, were arguing outside their home when Cabrales got into his Jeep and hit the victim with the vehicle. Cabrales drove away from the scene before officers arrived.
Buckeye police arrested Cabrales on Tuesday in Avondale without incident. He was booked into jail on aggravated assault charges.
