The Phoenix Police Department has identified of a deadly shooting as 31-year-old Samuel Lamas Jr.
According to the Department, on June 20, 2023, around 5:10 a.m., officers responded to the area of 2200 East Thomas Road regarding shots fired being heard in the area. When officers arrived in the area, they found Mr. Lamas with gunshot wounds. He did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
As the investigation into the shooting progressed, detectives were able to retrieve many elements of evidence to include video surveillance. They have released a portion of the video in hopes of identifying potential witnesses that can been seen in the area around the time of the homicide.
If anyone has information on the people seen in the video surveillance, or any other element of this incident, they are asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
