Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a single vehicle collision into a wall that left the male driver, Vandet Ouk, deceased near the I-17 Freeway and Cactus Road.
According to the Department, in the early morning of July 2, 2023, patrol officers responded to a collision involving a car into a concrete wall. When officers got to the area of 12400 North Black Canyon Access Road, they located the victim’s car on fire.
After being removed from the car, the 47-year old Ouk, was taken to the hospital by Phoenix Fire personnel. At the hospital, medical staff pronounced Mr. Ouk deceased.
Detectives learned that the victim was driving south on the access road approaching Cactus Road when he collided with a large concrete wall. Detectives believe speed was a factor in this collision.
