Yuma Woman Killed By Stray Bullet

A woman was killed in her Yuma home by a stray bullet on Sunday morning.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, on July 2, 2023, at approximately 12:16 a.m., deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 2800 Block of W. 1st Street.

Upon arrival, deputies found Christian Galindo, age 31, with an apparent gunshot wound and was unresponsive.

Deputies performed initial life-saving measures until Rural Metro Fire Department arrived and continued to render medical aid. However, Ms. Galindo succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office detectives discovered that Ms. Galindo had been inside her residence when struck by a stray bullet.
