Yavapai County Sheriff's Office

The body of a Dewey man has been found after he was reported missing by his sister.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Levi Smith was reported missing by his sister last Friday after he she had not heard from him in two weeks. The initial investigations did not locate Mr. Smith, however later that afternoon a separate call of an abandoned vehicle off Bumble Road on I 17 allowed deputies to locate what they believed to be his vehicle. His cell phone had appeared to be disconnected.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Forest Patrol deputies and Search and Rescue volunteers continued their search efforts over the weekend and found Mr. Smith deceased Saturday morning in the vicinity where his car was found a few days before.

The Sheriff’s Office says there did not appear to be anything suspicious about his passing at the scene.
