Glendale Police Arrest Suspect In Park Shooting

Glendale police have arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting a man at a Glendale park earlier this week.

Eron Corrales, age 44, has been arrested on murder charges for shooting and killing 53-year-old Byron Lamar McBrine.

According to the Glendale Police Department, just after 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, officers were in the area of the 5800 block of West Bethany Home Road when an officer observed several people running out of Bonsall Park South. People on the scene pointed to Mr. McBrine on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted life-saving-efforts, but Mr. McBrine was pronounced dead on scene.

Witnesses Corrales shot McBrine and ran to a blue four-door sedan.

Detectives identified a blue Volkswagen as leaving the area at the time of the shooting. Further research showed the vehicle was associated with Corrales.

Detectives located Corrales and arrested him on unrelated drug charges. Further evidence of his involvement in the shooting was seized upon his arrest.

Corrales was charged with multiple felony counts to include first degree murder, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drugs for sale.
