Sahuarita Police Officers Arrest Homicide Suspect

Sahuarita Police Department officers have made an arrest in connection with the death of 26-year-old Sahuarita resident Daniel Walker.

According to the Sahuarita Police Department, on Monday, August 7, 2023, at about 5:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence near the intersection of South Burro Canyon Place and East Ashburn Mountain Drive for the report of an unknown problem.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Daniel Walker suffering from obvious gunshot trauma. He was subsequently pronounced deceased by paramedics.

Sahuarita detectives interviewed multiple witnesses and crime scene specialists processed the scene for evidence. Through the investigation, detectives established probable cause to arrest 40-year-old Sahuarita resident Tyesha Wayne for one count of Domestic Violence Second Degree Murder.

On the evening of August 9, Wayne was arrested at her residence without incident and
booked into the Pima County Jail.
