Phoenix Police detectives have booked Gabriel Javier Garcia after a shooting in west Phoenix that left another man dead.
On September 23, 2023, around 3:45 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 46th Avenue and Thomas Road regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male identified as 37-year-old Luis Javier Ponce Munoz, with a gunshot wound. Ponce Munoz did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The detectives’ investigation revealed that the 27-year-old Garcia was the suspect in the shooting. Garcia was booked into jail on one count of murder.
