Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a deadly collision in which a man was killed after his vehicle crashed into tow truck near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road on Wednesday evening.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road on October 11, 2023, at about 6:41 p.m., to investigate a serious collision involving a car and a tow truck. When officers got to the scene, they found the passenger of a car suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
The driver of the car was later located by responding patrol officers after fleeing the scene. He was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives learned from witness’s that the involved car was leaving a private drive when a westbound tow truck struck it. The driver of the tow truck was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and did not show any signs of intoxication.
