On Saturday, September 30, 2023, at approximately 11:37 PM, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) responded to a report of an armed robbery near W. 5th Street and S. May Avenue.
The initial investigation revealed a 2003 Infinity G35 was stolen at gun-point by two unknown male subjects that fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival.
On October 11, 2023, the vehicle was located with the assistance of the Yuma Police Department. This led YCSO deputies and investigators to the suspect of the armed robbery.
The suspect, identified as Elias Nerva, 18, of Yuma, AZ, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for Armed Robbery, Theft of Means of Transportation, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and two counts of Unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement vehicle.
