Police Investigating Christmas Eve Murder Suicide By Widower Of Allister Adel

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide committed by the widower of the late Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel, David De Nitto, at a home near 5700 North 2nd Avenue.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on December 24, 2023, just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting near 5700 North 2nd Avenue. Officers arrived and found two women suffering gunshot wounds. They were both transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. They were identified as 83-year-old Cynthia Domini and 47-year-old Maryalice Cash. The 47-year-old De Nitto was found deceased inside the home with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Early information indicates Cash and De Nitto were in a relationship together. There was a holiday gathering at the home and an altercation occurred before the shooting.

In April 2022, when Adel passed away, DeNitto issued a statement saying he and his young sons were “utterly heartbroken by this unimaginable loss. We are so very proud to call Allister wife and mom.”
