Phoenix police detectives are investigating a homicide near 35th Avenue and Morten Avenue that left one man dead and another injured.
On January 4, 2024, just before 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of an unknown trouble near 35th Avenue and Morten Avenue. A man, identified as Abdul Karim Bin Abdul Jalil, was found suffering gunshot wounds at a nearby park. He was pronounced deceased on scene. Another man was found suffering a gunshot wound and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Homicide detectives believe the suspect and two victims were in an altercation. The suspect went to his vehicle and retrieved a gun and fired rounds at the victims before he left the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
