Phoenix Police Looking For Suspect In Deadly Hit-And-Run Of Jaywalker

Phoenix Police detectives are looking for the suspect involved in a fatal hit and run. The collision left a 59-year-old pedestrian deceased early Friday morning.

On February 16, 2024, Phoenix Police officers were called to a collision in the area of 41st Avenue and Indian School Road.
Officers found a woman later identified as 59-year-old Maria Ramos suffering from serious injuries. Phoenix Fire responded and took Ramos to the hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Detectives believe Ramos was walking across Indian School Road outside of any marked crosswalk when she was struck by a car driving east. A secondary collision occurred as an unknown car driving west on Indian School Road struck the victim and left the area. Detectives are seeking any information related to the second vehicle that struck Ramos and left without providing help.
