Hit And Run Collision Leaves Phoenix Pedestrian Dead

Phoenix Police detectives are searching for a vehicle after a west valley collision left one pedestrian dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 24, 2024, around 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of 40th Avenue and Van Buren Street regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located the adult male pedestrian with serious injuries. The man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The vehicle involved took off from the area prior to police arrival.

Detectives believe that an unknown vehicle was east bound on Van Buren Street when they struck the pedestrian as he crossed the roadway. The vehicle left the area immediately after the collision.
