Man Shot Dead In South Phoenix

Phoenix Police Department officers are investigating the shooting death of a man in south Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the victim, Milton Ayers, died after being shot by an unknown male who left the area in a vehicle.

Officers were called to a shooting in the area of 17th Avenue and Wayland Drive just before 4:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they the 35-year-old Ayers, lying on the ground and suffering from gunshot wounds. The fire department responded and rushed Ayers to the hospital where he later died from the injuries.

Detectives learned that the unknown man shot Ayers and left in a passenger vehicle.

Investigators are asking with any information about the incident to please call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness if they wish to remain anonymous. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest can receive up to a $2,000 reward.
