Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a fatal collision involving a jaywalker and an SUV that happened early Friday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, in the early morning hours of Friday April 5, 2024, officers were called to a collision near 32nd Street and Oak. Officers and Fire personnel responded to the scene and found a man suffering from critical injuries. Emergency medical treatment was provided as the man was taken to a hospital and later died as a result of his injuries.
The adult male driver of the involved SUV was interviewed and showed no signs of impairment.
Detectives learned that the victim was in the roadway outside any marked crosswalks when he was hit.
