
A Buckeye school teacher, Alyssa Paige Todd, has been indicted by a Maricopa County Grand Jury on six counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. Todd is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old male student..
On March 16th, the Buckeye Police Department began investigating the 23-year-old Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies High School teacher after her husband discovered inappropriate images and messages involving a student. After obtaining a search warrant for Todd’s electronic devices and conducting a forensic interview of the victim, Todd admitted to the months-long sexual relationship.
On March 20th, Todd was arrested on sexual misconduct charges. The Grand Jury indictment includes six Class Two Felony counts and one Class Two Felony count.
Trial is currently scheduled for July of this year.
“It is extremely concerning to me that teachers, who are in a position of power and trust, are manipulating and taking advantage of students,” said County Attorney Rachel Mitchell. “I commend our prosecutors and the Buckeye Police Department for their work in ensuring this defendant is held accountable.”
