Phoenix Motorcyclist Killed After Running Red Light

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a collision that left a motorcycle rider dead.

On April 9, 2024, around noon, officers responded to the area of 51st Avenue and Grovers Avenue regarding a collision involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they located the adult male motorcycle rider, identified as 21-year-old Kyle Farrell, with serious injuries. Farrell was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The other vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene and the occupants were not injured.

Detectives believe that the motorcycle driven by Farrell was northbound on 51st Avenue when Farrell failed to stop for a red light and struck the other vehicle involved who was proceeding through the intersection on a Grovers Avenue.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision.
