Phoenix Police detectives arrest 29-year-old Pedro Vazquez for a fatal shooting that happened near 9800 North 18th Avenue on Monday.
On April 8, 2024, just before 12:00 noon, Phoenix police officers responded to a call of a shooting near 9800 North 18th Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was treated by Phoenix Fire personnel and died on scene. The victim was later identified as 39-year-old Prince Luckey.
Officers learned the suspect had left the area after the shooting and began to search the neighborhood for him. During the original investigation, Vazquez was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.
Detectives responded to the scene and later booked Vazquez into jail for 2nd Degree murder.
