Fountain Hills Councilman Moves To Prohibit DEI In Town Hall

With the assistance of the Goldwater Institute, Councilman Allen Skillicorn has introduced a resolution to prohibit DEI in the Fountain Hills town hall. The DEI prohibition is on the agenda for the Fountain Hills Council meeting April 16, 2024.

DEI is defined as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Skillicorn’s resolution was inspired by what he described as “the taxpayer funded abuse and ideological discrimination from Gilbert, AZ’s DEI department called the Office of Digital Government, exposed by Arizona Free Enterprise Club.

In Gilbert, the Chief Digital Officer harassed employees and residents who did not align with a progressive, liberal agenda. The Office of Digital Government would ‘patrol’ social media accounts of employees and residents to censor their free speech. One DEI incident had the Chief Digital Officer demand Gilbert fire fighters and police officers not fly Blue Lives Matter flags after seeing an online video of the pro-police flag.

The Gilbert Office of Digital Government salaries added up to over $1.15 Million of taxpayer money.

“DEI discriminates against merit. Ensuring colorblind and sex-neutral policies are good governance. We have an opportunity to make MLK’s dream come true today in Fountain Hills by passing this resolution prohibiting DEI,” said Skillicorn referring to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have A Dream,” speech.
