According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday just after 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Coffee Pot Rock Drive in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona.

A Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) patrol sergeant was the first on scene, where he encountered the stabbing suspect, 33-year-old Lauren Levinson on the street near the home. She was taken into custody without incident.

The sergeant then entered the residence where the stabbing was to have occurred and found the suspect’s mother and father injured from multiple stab wounds. Levinson’s mother was badly injured and had numerous puncture wounds to her back and her husband had been stabbed several times in his arm.

The suspect’s brother, who had been called to assist by one of the parents, was on scene and assisted the sergeant with life saving measures on his mother and father including staunching the wounds to Levinson’s mother’s torso to protect her lung function, and a tourniquet to the father’s arm.
