Two Dead In Phoenix Collision Caused By Excessive Speed

A single vehicle crash in north Phoenix is being investigated as a double fatal collision that happened early Friday morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just after 6:00 a.m., on July 26, 2024, patrol officers were called to a collision involving a single vehicle in the area of 12800 North 35th Avenue. Responding officers got to the scene and found an adult female outside of a car on fire. Phoenix Fire personnel responded and provided medical care to the victim and extinguished the fire. The victim was taken to the hospital where she was not able to survive her injuries.

After the fire was extinguished, a second victim was found inside the passenger seat of the car deceased.

Detectives believe that the driver was north on 35th Avenue at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car driving off the road and hitting a large metal power pole.
