Man Wanted For Phoenix Murder Turns Himself Over To Border Patrol Agents At Nogales Port

A 20-year-old suspect in a Phoenix murder has turned himself in to Border Patrol agents at the Nogales Port of Entry.

Miguel Angel Rievoles was turned over to Phoenix Police Department detectives and booked into the Maricopa County Jail for Second Degree Murder of 62-year-old Jose Perez Olvera.

Rievoles was also charged with Discharging a Firearm in City Limits.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Rievoles was arrested as part of an investigation into a deadly shooting that happened in Maryvale Wednesday morning.

On July 24, 2024, at about 9:55 a.m., officers were called to the neighborhood of 48th Avenue and Holly Street for a shooting. Responding officers found Perez Olvera suffering from a critical gunshot wound on scene. Phoenix fire personnel responded and pronounced Olvera deceased.
