California Man Sentenced For Retail Theft In Arizona

A California resident, Bay Horn, has been sentenced for retail theft committed in Arizona.

Horn came to Arizona and committed an organized retail theft scheme that defrauded TJ Maxx of $26,000 over a one-month period in 2023. He and other individuals collected merchandise in stores including TJ Maxx and Home Goods, concealed the items in bags, walked past the point of purchase, and then returned the items to a cashier falsely requesting a refund.

On July 29, 2024, Horn pleaded guilty to Fraud Schemes & Artifices, a Class 2 felony, and Organized Retail Theft, a Class 4 felony. On August 27, 2024, Horn was sentenced to 2.25 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections and a consecutive sentence of 4 years on probation.

Horn was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $11,016.00 to TJ Maxx for his involvement.
