Peoria Police Investigating Multiple Business Burglaries

On Thursday, Peoria police began investigating a series of burglaries on area businesses.

According to the Peoria Police Department, on September 5, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a “suspicious circumstance” call involving a business near the 12200 block of N. 83rd Avenue, in Peoria. The reporting party said they saw an unidentified man walking away from a nearby closed business. When officers arrived on scene, they found a windowpane that was removed from the front of the business. Officers made several announcements and contacted two victims inside the business who informed them they were recently robbed.

During the investigation, a robbery call for service came in for a business near the 9000 block of N. 89th Avenue, in Peoria. Officers arrived on the scene and saw the same method of entry was completed with a windowpane sitting outside the business. One victim was located inside this business.

Officers immediately noticed a crime pattern and went to other similar businesses within Peoria city limits. They found two additional business burglaries located near the 13800 block of N. 75th Avenue, and the 10600 block of N. 91st Avenue, in Peoria.

These businesses had similarities with the windowpane’s being removed. There were no victims present at both locations.
