‘Republicans for Harris’ Turned in For FEC Investigation

Kamala Harris not only came up short on the White House — her campaign may have fallen short of Federal Election Commission (FEC) requirements as well.

The claim of wrongdoing concerns the Harris campaign’s unsuccessful attempt to capture a share of the Republican voters that would ultimately contribute to Donald Trump’s decisive, landslide victory over Harris.

Turning Point Action — the activist affiliate of Turning Point USA — filed an FEC Complaint against the Republicans for Harris campaign in Arizona. The COO of Turning Point Action, Tyler Bowyer, announced the complaint filing on Thursday.

“We do believe it is important to expose dark money backers, bad actors and the entities who have been manipulating Arizonans for a far too long,” said Bowyer.

Republicans for Harris is a campaign launched in August by Kamala Harris’ campaign — or, a “campaign within a campaign,” per their team. The campaign expanded beyond Arizona to other key states, North Carolina and Pennsylvania (both of which Harris lost).

The filing comes a little over a week after the FEC fined Turning Point Action $18,000 for failing to disclose nearly $33,800 in contributions from donors who gave over $200 during the 2020 election.

Members of Republicans for Harris included Mesa Mayor John Giles; Mesa City Councilmember Julie Spilsbury; Glendale City Councilmember Bart Turner; former Senator Jeff Flake; former state lawmakers Rich Crandall, Joel John, Steve May, Robin Shaw, and Bob Worsley; former Scottsdale Mayor Sam Campana; and former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley. At their peak, their Arizona committee claimed to have over 200 members.

Other national leaders who joined the effort: former vice president Dick Cheney and his daughter, former congresswoman Liz Cheney; former Trump staffer Olivia Troye; former lieutenant governor for Georgia Geoff Duncan; Bush treasurer Rosario Martin; former Illinois congressman Joe Walsh; former RNC delegate Rina Shah; and former Virginia congressman Denver Riggleman.

As of Thursday night, Donald Trump led Kamala Harris in the state by nearly six points with nearly 80 percent of the vote reported. Trump’s win came in alongside a takeover of the Senate, securing a Republican trifecta.

On Election Day, the leader of “Young Republicans for Harris,” Reed Howard, published a Substack article through Republicans for Harris that warned that it might take “longer than we would like” to receive the election results.

Howard is the chief strategy and public affairs officer for Future Caucus.

It took less than 24 hours to determine Trump as the victor of the 2024 election.

The day after Election Day, Republicans for Harris issued its statement on Trump’s win. The organization declared that Republicans who voted for Democrats this election were “on the right side of history.”

On Thursday, Republicans for Harris launched an X space, “What’s next for non-MAGA America?” Howard claimed in that space that there will be “a lot of hardship coming down the pipeline” under Trump, and that the president-elect will “do bad, scary, and terrible things.”

  1. I wonder if “Republicans for Harris” was formed by the same folks behind the extremely successful “Pigs For Farmer John” campaign.

  2. “the president-elect will “do bad, scary, and terrible things.””

People who are horrified at the thought of Donald Trump in the White House should write down all the terrible things they think he will do, then pay attention during his administration and note that the terrible things are not being done. Maybe that will help return them to sanity.

  3. Please, these people just need to go ahead and re-register as Democrats. Admit it and joint the anti-Americans on the left.

  4. “Republicans for Harris”? Not really. They posed as Republicans to get elected in Red leaning areas. They thought they could further their ambitions thinking Harris would win. Now they are exposed, hated by both parties, done to a crisp. Liz Cheney may be the most mentally bent person I have ever seen. Get sleep mess Republicans for Harris. You will need them.

  5. Interesting to find out through this article that my Glendale City Councilman was part of this failed group…tells me quite a lot about his judgment and character, color me disappointed.

” The the Repubs for Harris .. remember what happen to BUD LIGHT.. you’al just did that to yourself – Have a nice weekend” You can however listen to “Swiftie Music” who may well have done the same to herself – time will tell the effect – I wasn’t a fan, don’t pay attention to it – but my neighbor has a “Swiftie for Harris sign next to the Black Lives matter’ virtue signs ; he votes for president bases on the ‘rock music’ star’s choice. VIRTUE SIGNS another topic on it’s own ain’t it

  7. How ironic that the “Republicans for Harris”, the most left leaning candidate in US history, is being attacked by the left. If they’ve violated election laws, I hope they’re duly adjudicated. Further, their claim that here will be “a lot of hardship coming down the pipeline” under Trump is such garbage. It’s stupid, it’s damaging and it’s baseless. But that doesn’t matter to those Trump obsessed zealots.
