The Arizona Corporation Commission held its Swearing-In Ceremony on Monday, January 6, 2025, where Commissioner Lea Márquez Peterson, Commissioner Rachel Walden, and Commissioner Rene Lopez took their oaths of office.
Commissioners Walden and Lopez entered their first terms on the Commission and Márquez Peterson entered her second elected term.
The new Commission also voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Kevin Thompson as its new Chairman. As his first act as Chairman, Thompson proposed the creation of a Vice Chairman position. The Commission unanimously approved creation of the new position, then immediately voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Nick Myers as Vice Chairman.
