Phoenix Police Department officers responded to a stabbing incident and arrested the murder suspect late Saturday night.

According to Phoenix Police Department, just before 10:00 p.m. on January 25, officers were called to a stabbing investigation at a house in the neighborhood of 7500 West Warner Street. When officers got to the house, they found three victims all suffering from apparent stab wounds. During the initial investigation, patrol officers searching the neighborhood detained a man later identified as Hunter Strawbridge, believed to have been involved.

Two of the victims, an adult male and adult female, were taken to the hospital with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries. The third victim, 29-year-old Jake Carbonell, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Carbonell later succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. Witness’ at the scene confirmed Strawbridge was the suspect that had stabbed all three victims before running from the scene.

Strawbridge was later booked into jail.

Detectives learned that a fight between Carbonell and Strawbridge happened while at a family gathering and led to Strawbridge stabbing Carbonell. The other two victims were stabbed during this altercation and later treated and released from the hospital.
