Man Found Dead At Central Phoenix Apartment

Phoenix Police Department detectives are looking for a suspect involved in a horrific beating that left one man dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 14, 2025, around 4:00 p.m., officers were called to a dead body call at an apartment near 10th Avenue and Tonto Street. When officers arrived, they were directed to an apartment where they found 35-year-old Darius Smith with obvious signs of trauma. It was determined Smith died before police arrived.

Detectives responded to process the scene, speak to witnesses, and attempt to locate surveillance footage.

Currently, no suspects have been detained; however, detectives are actively following leads. Anyone with information can call Phoenix police or Silent Witness, if they wish to remain anonymous.
