Phoenix Police Department detectives are processing a scene that shows a man shot and killed his girlfriend, then turns the gun on himself.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on March 17, 2025, around 8:15 a.m., officers were called to an unknown trouble call at a home near 83rd Avenue and Broadway Road. When officers arrived, they were directed to a room inside the residence where a man and woman were found dead.
Detectives say the evidence suggests the man shot and killed 41-year-old Daisy Ruiz and then shot and killed himself.
Relatives came to the home and discovered the scene after Ruiz was not seen or heard of. The investigation remains active and awaits the findings from the Office of the Medical Examiner.
