Woman Dies After Collision with Stolen Vehicle in Phoenix

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a late evening collision that left a woman dead and two adult females in the hospital.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on April 30, 2025, around 8:52 p.m., officers responded to 16th Street and Jefferson Street regarding a collision involving two vehicles. When officers arrived, they located one vehicle with three adult female victims inside. One adult female, later identified as Maria Ramos Camacho, was transported to a nearby hospital; however, she was not able to overcome her injuries and died at the hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle involved left the scene before police arrival; however, he was later apprehended and identified as Isaiah Sparks.

Detectives believe that Sparks was westbound on Jefferson Street, driving the wrong way on a one way street, when he failed to control the vehicle and collided with the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle Sparks was driving had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
