Bicyclist Dies After Early Morning Phoenix Collision

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating an early morning collision that left a man dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 18, 2025, around 6:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of 51st Avenue and Westcott Drive regarding a collision involving a bicyclist. When officers arrived, they located the adult male bicyclist, identified as 60-year-old Larry Schnepp. Schnepp was transported to a nearby hospital; however, he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The vehicle involved remained on scene.

Detectives believe Schnepp was crossing 51st Avenue either riding or pushing his bicycle when he was struck by the vehicle involved, which was eastbound on Westcott Drive.
