Phoenix Police Detectives Arrest Inebriated Driver In Fatal Collision

Phoenix Police Department detectives investigating a fatal collision that happened west of downtown Phoenix on Tuesday evening, have arrested the driver of the involved vehicle for manslaughter charges.

At about 6:30 p.m., on June 10, 2025, officers were called to a collision involving four vehicles that shut down Buckeye Road at 40th Avenue. As officers got to the area, they found the victim identified as an adult male suffering from critical injuries. Phoenix Fire took the man to the hospital where he was not able to overcome his injuries and died.

Detectives responded to the scene of the collision and learned 35-year-old Robbin Oliver was driving her vehicle east on Buckeye Road when she struck the side of a vehicle. After this initial collision, Oliver continued driving east and then struck a tow truck which was stopped at the active train crossing area near 40th Avenue and Buckeye Road. Debris from the second collision then struck a third vehicle causing minor damage.

The adult victim of this investigation was identified as the front passenger of Oliver’s car. During the investigation, officers and detectives noted signs of intoxication and later processed Oliver for DUI. Oliver was later booked into Maricopa County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and endangerment.
