Serial Protester Charged for Assaulting Peoria Police Officer

A serial protestor, Tyler Hitte, has been charged with three felony charges stemming from a protest in Peoria earlier this week.

The 23-year-old Hitte also currently faces a criminal charge related to a protest on the campus of Arizona State University last year.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on June 10, Hitte was involved in a protest in Peoria. During the course of the protest, Hitte is seen on body-worn camera footage assaulting a Peoria police officer. Hitte resisted arrest from multiple officers but was eventually arrested, booked, and released to pretrial supervision. Her next court appearance is currently set for June 25.

The charges filed are the following:

  • Two counts of Aggravated Assault, a Class Four Felony
  • One count of Resisting Arrest, a Class Six Felony
