All of Arizona’s Republican congressmen voted to pass the “Big Beautiful Bill” on Thursday, meeting the deadline President Donald Trump had proposed in order to avoid a massive tax increase for over 60 percent of Americans.
The reconciliation package passed 218-214 vote. President Trump had been asking lawmakers to send the bill to his desk for a signature by July 4th.
Congressman Abraham Hamadeh voted in favor of the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” saying he was “keeping his pledge to his constituents that he would fight for the America First agenda.”
“Today, I proudly voted for the agenda that my constituents voted for when they sent me to Congress – the America First agenda. The agenda laid out by President Donald Trump during his historic successful run to return to the White House,” stated Hamadeh. “The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers the largest tax cut for middle- and working-class Americans in history and secures increases in paychecks and take-home pay for the hardworking families in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.”
Hamadeh took a veiled shot at Elon Musk, who had vocally opposed the bill in numerous posts on X.
“For months, Americans have been bombarded with fake news accounts that stirred fear and anger and stoked resentment as part of the Democrats’ war on Capitalism,” said Hamadeh. “Today, my Republican colleagues and I were able to ignore the noise bought-and-paid-for by Green New Deal corporatists and hear the voices of the American workers.”
“The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers historic tax relief for workers, with a 15 percent average tax cut for Americans earning between $15,000 – $80,000. No tax on tips. No tax on overtime, and no tax on seniors’ Social Security. That is putting America First,” concluded Hamadeh.
Our distinguished Democratic colleagues can filibuster as long as they want.
The results of the One Big Beautiful Bill will speak for themselves.
These are the America First policies that the people voted for.

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, a Democrat, blasted her colleagues and Trump on X.com on behalf of Ukraine.
“Donald Trump’s administration is once again making Americans and the world less safe by recklessly halting military aid to our ally Ukraine as it continues to fight against Russia’s illegal invasion,” posted Ansari. “This unilateral action only benefits Vladimir Putin and our adversaries, while disregarding Congressional authority.”

“Today’s vote for H.R. 1, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” funds border security, strengthens our national defense, and stops the largest tax hike in U.S. history while instead delivering real tax relief for working families, including expanding the child tax credit, eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and tax relief for seniors and giving families more flexibility to stay for college and healthcare. It cracks down on fraud and abuse of Medicaid through common-sense work requirements and better eligibility checks, with no cuts to FMAP which would have endangered the access to care for many in need,” said Congressman Juan Ciscomani. “These steps help ensure that we protect Medicaid solvency so that it continues to serve our most vulnerable. And while there is a change regarding provider taxes, our rural and urban low income serving hospitals will now have access to a new $50 billion hospital fund.”
“I’m grateful to the many stakeholders across our district who shared their expertise, personal stories, and insights over the last few months as we work through the reconciliation process,” said Ciscomani. “H.R. 1 one is not perfect. No bill ever is. But it includes many provisions that I know my constituents in southeastern Arizona support. There’s more work to do and I look forward to continuing to work together for our district and community.”
“The collaboration between President Trump and the @freedomcaucus pushed the Big, Beautiful Bill over the finish line today,” posted Congressman Andy Biggs on X.com. “I’m honored to stand with my great Freedom Caucus colleagues as we work in lockstep with President Trump.”

It isn’t fantastic but it will do…15% tax should have gone to $150,000 earners. The GOP is always claiming the big guys at the top are who keep this country running by paying taxes and investing in more businesses so why not? Middle income is considered $175,000 per year family of four. And why does green energy scam still get subsidized by the feds? And why isn’t Planned Parenthood federal funding stopped PERMANENTLY? JS wed better take and keep 2026 midterms. The fight is far from over!
The bill is quite a huge disaster – but then, isn’t *every* bill, passed by pols?!
According to Rep. Massie – one of the handful of actually honest people in DC – here’re some key points.
You were promised the Big Beautiful Bill would do these things but it does NOT:
Prohibit welfare for illegal aliens Stop funding sex changes for kids
End registration of suppressors Defund planned parenthood 10 yrs
Implement REINS Act Reduce the deficit
All the ‘tax breaks’ have to come from somewhere, folks! They just add to the humongous dept – which will never be repaid. This really just ‘kicks the can down the road’ as usual.
But one of the truly terrible things in the bill regards AI, and the states. Hopefully that will be challenged and the supremes will -properly- prevail.
Is Ansari’s statement about less aid to Ukraine represents her constituents’ desires? Is foreign aid more important to them than the welfare of this country and our own citizens?
Ansari’s comment about Ukraine is confusing, since the story is about the OBBB. In fact, while she implies Trump is halting all munitions to Ukraine, it is only a partial stop, pending review.
I can’t think of delivering anything better to my employees & families ; is anyone going to feel the pinch – fix it if it needs fixing – this IS the RIGHT DIRECTION – Congratulations AMERICA ! Happy Birthday! “One Nation Under God”
Moving America forward in a positive direction. Praise will follow those who stood with the people of these United States. Shame and confusion continues to plague those who opposed the reconciliation bill.
