Phoenix Police detectives are seeking any information concerning a fatal hit and run that took the life of a woman and her pet dog early Friday morning in west Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, just after 1:00 a.m. on Friday morning, officers were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and an unknown vehicle, possibly a Toyota Tacoma, near 51st Avenue and Elwood Street. Phoenix Fire responded and confirmed both Geib and her dog had been killed from the collision.
Detectives responded to the scene and learned of a vehicle, possibly a Toyota Tacoma, driving south on 51st Avenue had struck Geib while she was in the roadway with her dog. The vehicle did not stop and continued south, leaving the scene of the collision.
Detectives believe a second car, possibly a Toyota Camry may have also struck Geib and left the area. Details concerning what led to this fatal hit and run are still under investigation.
