
A Phoenix teen, Victor Donovan Morales, for fatally shooting his father and injuring his mother.
Last month, Phoenix Police responded to a shooting at a family gathering near 7th Street and Dobbins Road. When officers arrived, they found Morales’ father with multiple gunshot wounds and Morales’ mother with a gunshot wound to her arm.
At the time of the incident, Morales and the victims were the only ones inside the home. Police located Morales’ rifle in the backyard of the home and a bullet casing of the same caliber near Morales’ father.
Morales was indicted on the following:
- Second Degree Murder, a Class One Dangerous Felony and Domestic Violence Offense
- Aggravated Assault, a Class Three Dangerous Felony and Domestic Violence Offense
- Two counts of Disorderly Conduct, a Class Six Dangerous Felony and Domestic Violence Offense
- One count of Disorderly Conduct, a Class Six Dangerous Felony
- Two counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons, a Class Four Felony.
Morales is being held on a one-million-dollar secured appearance bond. Trial is scheduled for November of this year.
