A suspect, Daniel Bentler, was arrested after a violent strong-arm robbery at a Dewey business, during which a female clerk was assaulted. Bentler was identified and arrested the following day by the responding deputy.
On October 24, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) deputies responded to a robbery at a business located at the corner of Hwy 69 and Kachina.
The investigation determined that Bentler attempted to purchase a product with insufficient funds. When the clerk refused the sale and returned his money, Bentler refused repeated orders to leave the store.
The situation escalated when Bentler reached over the display counter and violently grabbed the clerk by her hair, tearing a handful out. He then forcibly took the product from her and fled the store on foot.
While the surveillance video clearly depicted Bentler, the clerk and witnesses did not immediately identify him.
The next day, the YCSO deputy patrolled the area near the business when he observed a male subject walking on Indian Hills Rd who matched Bentler’s appearance from the surveillance footage. The deputy initiated contact with Bentler.
During questioning, the deputy noticed signs of possible deception and was also able to visually identify Bentler as the same person in the video. Bentler was subsequently arrested for Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Burglary.

and the moral of the story is – life is hard on the RES – or is this NYNY in a couple of months
