Disabled Vehicle Leads to Drug Arrest in Yavapai County

A broken down car has led to the arrest of the driver.

On December 17th, YCSO Deputies, along with Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) troopers and Seligman Fire personnel, responded to a call of a possible impaired driver. The male subject, identified as Julian Benevides, was located along with his disabled vehicle on the side of the road just off Interstate 40 on Fort Rock Rd.

A drug sniffing dog successfully alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 10 grams of Methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Benevides was taken into custody, and the vehicle was impounded. He was arrested for:
• Possession of Dangerous Drugs
• Possession of Narcotic Drugs
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
