Phoenix Police detectives have identified the deceased victim of an early evening shooting on December 28 as Albert Ruiz.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on December 28, at around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of 7th Street and Montebello Avenue regarding a shooting call. When officers arrived, they found the 55-year-old Ruiz with at least one gunshot wound. Ruiz did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Phoenix Police Homicide Detectives responded to assume the investigation. During the investigation, an adult male was identified as being involved in the shooting. The man was contacted and interviewed. Once the interview was complete and the scene investigation concluded, the man was released pending additional investigation.
